“Menalo Hotel Premium Istanbul Airport, a complex of five apartment-like buildings and one lobby building located just a 10-minute drive from the Istanbul Airport, recently underwent a successful redesign project with the installation of a Skylounge Bioclimatic pergola and motorised Up&Down Guillotine glass system. The hotel did not have a common area for dining or waiting for their guests, but by covering a 150m2 area in the middle of the land they own, adjacent to the main lobby building, the hotel now has a spacious dining area that can be used all year round.

The Skylounge Bioclimatic pergola, with a rotating louvers roof and insulated glazing system, provides a big and spacious dining area that can be used in all weather conditions. During the summer months, the louver blades can be rotated, and the guillotine glass panels lowered to allow fresh, cool air to enter the space. The 4-meter high roof provides ample space and insulation, ensuring the area is comfortable for guests.

In addition to the bioclimatic pergola, the area was equipped with LED spots incorporated into the louvres and Sercair Pure, a new generation smart air ventilation device that keeps the air free of particles and purifies it from bad odors. Thanks to indoor air quality sensors, the amount of carbon dioxide, VOCs, and amount of particles are analyzed, and it brings fresh air inside by filtering outside air. The overall aim of the redesign project was to create a unique atmosphere with high-quality design that is simple and minimal but at the same time welcoming.

The results of the redesign were seen immediately, as the area was transformed into a bright and comfortable space, drawing in guests. The bioclimatic pergola was able to guarantee optimal acoustic and thermal insulation, providing guests with the best possible experience.
